Gibraltar and Buffalo Creek Pipelines

Project Overview

The Gibraltar and Buffalo Creek Pipelines are two new Columbia Midstream assets that are currently under development. The two connecting pipelines will transport natural gas developed throughout Washington County, Pennsylvania. The Gibraltar Project is a 16- mile, 36-inch pipeline that will transport gas south from Claysville, Pennsylvania to a point near Columbia’s Majorsville Compressor Station. The Buffalo Creek Project will tie into Gibraltar, extending north from the point near Claysville, to the point near Houston, Pennsylvania, adding nine miles of 36-inch pipeline to the system. Both projects will run adjacent to Columbia Gas Transmission’s Line 1758.

Construction Overview

Construction is expected to begin in early 2016, with compression to be added at a later date. The pipelines will eventually allow producers to access Columbia Pipeline Group’s Leach XPress, a 160-mile transmission line extending through the West Virginia panhandle and southeastern Ohio to high-demand energy markets.
